Physics Made Simple : Wave Motion

Wave Motion

Wave can be defined as "A Disturbance that transfers energy from one place to another and can travel through space or matter".

There are a lot of different types of waves and they have many uses in our daily life.

Some of these types include :

1.Sound Waves
2.Light waves
3.Heat Waves
4.X-rays
5.Electromagnetic Waves

Some of the above waves do not need a medium to propagate energy from one place to another for example Electromagnetic waves.

Other require a medium for them to traverse through. These waves include Sound waves,Heat waves etc.

Waves play a significant role in our lives and form an important means of communication and useful necessities in our lives

Wavelength Ī», can be measured between any two corresponding points on a waveform

Sinesquaretriangle and sawtooth waveforms.
